Effortless Five-Minute Minimal Makeup

For me, when it comes to makeup, less is more. While my skincare and moisturizing routine is getting longer (post coming soon!), my everyday makeup routine stays simple and minimal. Just a few quick steps, and I’m ready to go. Below are my go-to products—both high-end and drugstore favorites—that I reach for regularly.

1. Liquid Eyeliner

Perfecting the cat-eye is no easy task, and choosing the right tool can make all the difference. My go-to is Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner—it’s easy to apply, glides on smoothly, and is perfect for creating an ultra-thin, precise line. Best of all, it doesn’t smudge and stays put all day. This one is my tried-and-true favorite!

A close second is Revlon’s ColorStay Liquid Liner. While the formula is great—intense, long-lasting, and smudge-proof—the shorter applicator tip and slightly awkward tube shape make it a bit trickier to apply. It takes a few extra strokes to perfect the look, but once you do, it delivers a crisp, defined line that lasts all day.

2. Lash Primer

Though I have naturally long lashes, they tend to disappear without a little help. That’s why I never skip Dior’s Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer. It smooths and preps my lashes, making mascara application effortless while adding extra volume and length for a more dramatic effect.

3. Mascara

While I swear by my lash primer, I’m always experimenting with different mascaras. Right now, I’m loving Lancôme’s Monsieur Big Mascara—it’s ultra-black, buildable, and delivers dramatic volume. The more layers, the better!

For an affordable option, I always go back to Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black. It’s volumizing, rich in color, and never fails to give my lashes a bold, defined look.

4. Cheek Contour & Blush

I use the same two cheek products every single day. First, I contour with Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer, applying it under my cheekbones with the included straight-bristle brush. It’s also great for defining the jawline, hairline, and nose.

Next, I add MAC Cosmetics Powder Blush in Harmony, a natural, neutral shade that complements everything. It’s buildable, so you can go as soft or bold as you like. Pro tip: a little goes a long way!

5. Eyebrow Pencil

Eyebrows frame the face and accentuate the eyes, so keeping them defined is key. Since getting my brows microbladed (should I do a blog post on this?), I don’t need as much filling in, but I still like to touch them up. NYX’s Micro Brow Pencil is my favorite—it comes in eight shades, has an ultra-thin tip for precision, and blends effortlessly for a natural look. Plus, it includes a built-in brush for easy shaping.

These are my everyday go-to products for a quick, polished look. What are your minimal makeup must-haves?
